TBX Drill Bits for stainless steel

For the professional in drilling thin partitions of stainless steel, Tivoly presents the TBX drill bit for an exceptional quality of drilling.

Amongst the four big families of stainless steel, (ferritic, martensitic, austentic, and refractory), our customer surveys revealed a majority usage of austenitic inox 304L, 316L in sheet metalworking, boilers, locksmithing, and agriculture and food industries.

Drilling most often leads to through holes in thin partitions smaller than one times the diameter.

In maintenance use, dry drilling is mostly done with hand tools. In conjunction, we often observe a crossing of cordless tools..
In machining for production, stainless steel drilling is done with lubricants under controlled parameters.
For their strong ductility and weak conductivity of heat, drilling in austenetic stainless steel imposes very strong constraints on cutting tools. Strong ductility: the formation of a long and thick chip into smaller ones necessitates an increase of feed rate. The cutting edges are thus strongly subjected to abrasion. Weak conductivity: the heat escapes badly in the material and chips. The drill bit is thus subjected to an important oxydation (heat) favoring the rapid degradation of the active parts.

> The reference 14560 (TBX)  is the solution that Tivoly presents: its geometric composition coupled with an optimised coating makes the TBX drill bit the "Special Stainless Steel".
